Douglas MacAdams K.C.
Doug has been a lawyer since 1974, first in Vancouver and since 1988 in Abbotsford. He was designated as a King's Counsel in 2001. He resolves disputes. Commercial disputes. Partnership and shareholder disputes. Employment disputes. And other kinds of disputes as well. He does appeals to the British Columbia Court of Appeal and to the Supreme Court of Canada. He has been retained by the governments of British Columbia and Canada for work with commissions, including commissions of inquiry. He very much enjoys the court room. His name appears as legal counsel in over 100 reported court decisions in all levels of court including the Supreme Court of Canada. He knows that going to court is sometimes the best option for the client. He also knows that settling cases is generally better for the client. He is a chartered arbitrator. He is a member of many community organizations, is a past president of the Abbotsford Chamber of Commerce, and is the former Chancellor of the Anglican Provincial Synod of British Columbia. He keeps fit by walking on as many days as possible the 40 minutes between his home and office, even in the rain. His chief delights are his spouse, their two adult offspring and their partners, and four young grandchildren.
